Alien DNA gives a flat +50 bonus to health and Oxygen, so it does not scale well later in the game. Unlike max health, max Oxygen capacity does not increase with levels. There are only a few ways of increasing it like investing in the Fitness Skill and getting the Terra Firma Trait.

The Alien DNA Trait increases your maximum health and oxygen, but reduces the effectiveness of healing items.
