Where can I find rainbow-coated chocolate chips? Most local grocery stores should carry them in the baking aisle. If you can’t find them, mini M&Ms or rainbow sprinkles can be a great alternative.

  1. Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature before starting.
  2. Use a cookie dough scoop to ensure even cookie dough balls.
  3. Bake cookies on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy removal.

Common Problems and How to Avoid Them:

The cookies spread too much: Chill the dough for at least an hour before baking to prevent this.

The edges of the cookies are burnt: Keep an eye on your cookies while they’re baking. Every oven is different and you might need to adjust the baking time.

The frosting is too runny: Add more powdered sugar to achieve a thicker consistency.

Tips for Making this Recipe with Kids:

Let the kids scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets.

Kids can help by pressing the colorful chocolate candies onto the top of each cookie.

They’ll love helping spread the smooth chocolate ganache over the cooled cookies with an offset spatula.
