Some may argue that summer is the best time of year—that's justifiable, but it's not Girl Scout cookie season. It's officially upon us: The cookie-selling run has already started for most Girl Scout troops, and you have the opportunity to buy cookies until April in some areas (start and end dates differ based on location). This gives most buyers at least a full three months to tuck away their copycat Girl Scout recipes and stock up on the real deal.
The selection this year features many classic favorites like Thin Mints and Samoas/Caramel deLites, with a total of 12 flavors to choose from. Here's the complete list of flavors straight from the Girl Scouts website:
- Adventurefuls: brownie caramel cookie
- Caramel Chocolate Chip: gluten-free chocolate chip and caramel cookie
- Caramel deLites/Samoas: cookie crisp featuring caramel, chocolate drizzle, and coconut
- Do-Si-Dos: oatmeal with peanut butter filling
- Girl Scout S’mores: graham cracker cookie with chocolate and marshmallow filling
- Lemonades: shortbread with lemon icing
- Lemon-Ups: lemon cookie crisp
- Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs: peanut butter cookie covered in chocolate
- Thin Mints: chocolate cookie with mint-chocolate coating
- Toast-Yay!: French toast flavor with icing
- Toffee-tastic: gluten-free with toffee chunks
- Trefoils: original shortbread cookie
There are a few ways to stock up on cookies for this year, but the most convenient one is placing an order with a Girl Scout you know personally. If you don't have an inside connection, troops may stop by your neighborhood or set up a booth nearby—if you need help sourcing your next cookie purchase, the Girl Scout website has a cookie locator that tells you exactly where members of your local troop are setting up next.
If your area is devoid of Girl Scouts, don't fear: You can still head to the official website and place your order online starting next month. Consider using one of your local troops’ official Digital Cookie links; this way, the proceeds go straight to the local troop you’re hoping to support. And if you’re worried your neighborhood might be left out of the door-to-door experience, you can request cookies to be delivered by a local Girl Scout member from a participating troop.
If you’re looking to get the details on the 2024 cookie lineup, visit girlscouts.org. Eagerly waiting to hear when (and where) cookies are coming to your area? Text COOKIES to 59618 or make a note on where to go after checking the cookie locator. To place an online order, mark your calendar for February 16th when they become available on their website.
