Yes! And no. Butterbeer at Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter is dairy free in its cold and frozen form; however, the foam that's served with it is not dairy free. Now, you can ask for it to be served without the foam, which hasn't been an option until recently.

The actual Butterbeer drink has always been dairy-free, but the foam topping was not. Universal began offering the drink without the topping last summer as a vegan version. This new version has a dairy-free topping, so guests who don't want dairy can get the full experience.

Vegan Butterbeer at Universal Studios

Guests can find the vegan Butterbeer at various locations throughout the parks, including the Three Broomsticks and Leaky Cauldron restaurants in Orlando, as well as the Hog's Head Pub and Three Broomsticks in Hollywood.

Where to find it: In Diagon Alley, you'll find cold Butterbeer at Leaky Cauldron, The Fountain of Fair Fortune and The Hopping Pot. In Hogsmeade, you can locate it at Three Broomsticks, Hog's Head and the two Butterbeer street carts.

Butterbeer on draft is also available at the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Leavesden, UK and at Harry Potter New York's Butterbeer Bar. At these locations, the drink can be ordered without the dairy topping, making it vegan-friendly!

Draft Butterbeer is suitable for those with gluten, wheat and nut allergies. It does, however, contain trace amounts of dairy so it is unsuitable for vegans or anyone with lactose intolerance.
