I would have started by applying for LBL at least to get a point.

KY WMA quota draws opened today so you should apply. There are several you would have a chance to draw. if not, you can accumulate points to draw what you want. Tons of bow opportunity and you can always hunt that big one up near Beaverdam during rifle.

With today's purchase of preference points, I am going into next year with 6 preference points for me and 4 each for two kids. I always thought I would hunt Ballard, but not so sure that will be my choice.

I have been planning for when we can all go together and they can legally hunt alone while still only buying that youth license one more time before age 16. The cheap licenses are about to end for us, so may just stay local or head out west, or for a simple Africa trip just one time. My kids have grown fast, and I hope the time dad has dragged them out to the woods creates some memories.

In my opinion, states really need a graduated increase in license fees for the 16-21 ages for residents and non-residents.

Anyway, give KY a try and other states as well.
