How to leave ZeroTier network? ›

From the command line, simply execute zerotier-cli leave ################ with ################ being the 16-digit network ID of the network you wish to leave.

Error: Cannot connect to ZeroTier service (or Node ID "Unknown" in the GUI apps)​ This error means that the ZeroTier background service on your computer is either not running, or your local firewall is preventing the UI or CLI from talking to it.

Join your first ZeroTier network​

On macOS and Windows, there is a menubar/tray app. Select "join" from the menu. Every running instance of ZeroTier has a unique address. It's the 10 digit "Address" in the app, or zerotier-cli info command.

To check if/how zerotier is running, use sudo zerotier-cli status. As enable/disable (eg. sudo systemctl disable zerotier-one ) to stop automatically running Zerotier apparently do not work, you need to use sudo systemctl mask zerotier-one to stop launching Zerotier in the background.

Connection problems can be due to a variety of reasons—problems with the website, your device, the Wi-Fi router, modem, or your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Default zerotier-one listening ports are: 9993. Secondary Port, randomized each start up and after being "offline" for too long. Random Port for UPnP and NAT-PMP (UPnP or NAT-PMP is not required for ZeroTier hole punching to work)

One method that works in all modern versions of Windows is to use the Command Prompt. Open it and type: net use drive letter /delete . Then, press Enter. For example, we have a drive mapping using the letter Z, so we have to type: net use Z: /delete.

Create a free ZeroTier account at https://my.zerotier.com. On the 'Networks' page, click 'Create New Network'. A network will be created with a random name. Click on it to change its settings.
