SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (2024)

SuperVPN is an untrustworthy VPN for Android that lacks both essential and advanced security features, logs user data, has a buggy app, is terrible for streaming, and offers no customer support whatsoever. Frankly, SuperVPN is dangerous and you should never install it on your Android device.

If you’re looking for a safe and secure VPN for Android, I recommend reputable providers like ExpressVPN, Private Internet Access, and CyberGhost VPN — they all include industry-standard VPN security features as well as a wide range of extra tools, have strict no-logs policies, come with intuitive interfaces, work with the top streaming services, and offer affordable payment plans.

SuperVPN is an Android-only VPN with tons of security and privacy issues. While SuperVPN has good speeds, supports torrenting, and offers a free plan, it’s missing all of the industry-standard VPN security features — it doesn’t use 256-bit AES encryption, it doesn’t have a kill switch, and it keeps logs of user data (to make matters worse, it was even caught leaking user data).

SuperVPN has servers in only 9 countries, it doesn’t work with Netflix and Disney+, and doesn’t have extras like obfuscation and perfect forward secrecy. Also, SuperVPN doesn’t say how many simultaneous connections it allows.

SuperVPN does have split-tunneling (but it’s very complicated to set up and use), and my international team and I confirmed that it works with some streaming services, like Amazon Prime and BBC iPlayer — but these are the only slightly positive things about SuperVPN.

There is no way to reach SuperVPN’s customer support and its paid plans are not covered by a money-back guarantee.

Honestly, SuperVPN is one of the worst VPNs I’ve ever tested, and I don’t recommend that you install it on your Android device.

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (1)

I spent a few weeks testing and researching SuperVPN to see if it’s any good. I can safely say this is one of the least secure and trustworthy VPNs out there.

SuperVPN logs user IP addresses, and its privacy policy is very vague on whether or not it keeps records of your online traffic. Also, SuperVPN can’t keep you safe online because it doesn’t have important security features, like bank-grade encryption and a kill switch.

When I tested SuperVPN, I had good speeds, but everything else was bad —it’s hard to find the right appin the Google Play Store, there’s no customer support, and SuperVPN’s split-tunneling, which is the only extra feature it has, is difficult to set up and use.

SuperVPN Features

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (2)

SuperVPN is missing industry-standard security features like 256-bit AES encryption, a no-logs policy, and a kill switch.Since none of your online traffic is encrypted, this means that basically anyone can easily see what websites you’re visiting and what files you’re downloading, Without a no-logs policy, SuperVPN can keep records of your online traffic and your personal data, which can be sold to third-parties or handed over to the authorities. And because there’s no kill switch, SuperVPN can’t protect you from traffic leaks if your VPN connection accidentally drops.

Also, there’s no way to tell what VPN protocol SuperVPN uses. It’s not listed anywhere and there’s no way to find out what it is.

I was surprised to see that SuperVPN has IPv6 and DNS leak protection.I ran over 10 leak tests and never experienced any problems. I didn’t see WebRTC leaks either, but I can’t verify if SuperVPN has WebRTC leak protection.

SuperVPN also has split-tunneling (called Smart Proxy),which lets you choose which apps use the VPN and which apps use your internet service provider’s (ISP’s) network. But Smart Proxy only allows you to exclude operating system-related features(like phone calls, photo editor, radio, media storage, etc.) — unlike top VPN brands like ExpressVPN, SuperVPN’s split-tunneling doesn’t let you split-tunnel third-party apps(like Netflix, Amazon Prime, or your bank’s app). Other top VPNs also have extra security features like obfuscation, ad blockers, perfect forward secrecy, and RAM-only servers.

Overall, SuperVPN lacks important security features. The only good thing is that it has IPv6 and DNS leak protection. If you want a VPN with good encryption, secure protocols, a kill switch, full leak protection, and many other security tools, I recommend ExpressVPN,Private Internet Access, CyberGhost VPN, or any other VPN from our list of 2024’s best VPNs.

SuperVPN Privacy & Security

SuperVPN has a pretty bad privacy policy —it says the VPN logs access logs, which it defines as your IP address, browser type, and operating system. In addition, SuperVPN also logs your email addresses (to register an account) and payment data. And the policy fails to say whether or not SuperVPN logs your internet traffic (visited sites and downloaded files).

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (3)

SuperVPN’s app was previously removed from the Google Play Store after it was found to be vulnerable to cyber attacks, but it eventually resurfaced on the app store. And SuperVPN’s user data (email addresses, payment data, full names, and more) was leaked and sold on hacker forums.

SuperVPN doesn’t list where it’s headquartered. When I attempted to visit SuperVPN’s website, it redirectedme to SuperVPN’s Google Play Store download page, which doesn’t include any information on its location — except for an address that is for a university in Singapore.

Other top VPNs have stricter and clearer no-logs policies that have also been independently verified — ExpressVPN’s no-logs policy has been verified multiple times by independent third-party auditors and Private Internet Access’s no-logs policy has been proven true multiple times in court).

Overall, SuperVPN’s privacy policy isn’t trustworthy (to say the least) — SuperVPN logs your IP address, browser type, and operating system, and it’s very possible that SuperVPN also logs your traffic. And the VPN has been involved in privacy scandals.

SuperVPN Speed & Performance

I ran a speed test while connected to a server in each of the 9 countries where SuperVPN has a server to find its average VPN speeds. While I had the fastest speeds connected to a VPN server in Germany (I’m from Romania), my speeds were also decent on distant servers in the US— but HD videos buffered frequently.

I first ran a speed test without being connected to the VPN to get a baseline of my internet connection speeds.

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (4)

Here are my speeds when I used SuperVPN’s quick-connect feature (Auto select), which connected me to the fastest server for my location:

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (5)

Here are my speeds when connected to a distant server in the US:

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (6)

When I connected to a nearby server with the quick-connect feature, websites and HD videos loaded instantly. When I connected to distant servers, websites took 5 seconds to load and HD videos instantly loaded but buffered frequently when I skipped through them.

Overall, SuperVPN provided me with decent speeds on both nearby and distant servers.

SuperVPN Servers & IP Addresses

SuperVPN has servers in 9 countries, including the US, the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Singapore, Japan, and Hong Kong. That said, SuperVPN doesn’t publicly publish its server count — most of the top VPNs publicly release their server count, which makes their service more transparent.

Also, other VPNs have much larger server networks — for example, ExpressVPN and CyberGhost VPN both have servers in 100+ countries, and Private Internet Access has servers in 91 countries. SuperVPN doesn’t have a server in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, or South America, which makes it difficult for users in those areas to find nearby servers to get fast speeds.

All of SuperVPN’s servers allow torrenting, but other VPNs like ExpressVPNand Private Internet Accesshave better torrenting support because they allow P2P traffic on servers in more countries.

Overall, SuperVPN’s server network is small and the total number of servers isn’t public. There are many other top VPNs that have much larger server networks, allowing you to easily find the fastest server for your location.

SuperVPN Streaming & Torrenting

My international team and I confirmed that SuperVPN works with Amazon Prime and BBC iPlayer and others like VRV and Sony Crackle. However, it fails with some of the most popular ones, including Netflix and Disney+.

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (7)

SuperVPN allows torrenting on all of its servers, and it works with popular torrent clients like uTorrent, BitTorrent, and Tornado. But I don’t recommend SuperVPN for torrenting because it logs your data and doesn’t have a kill switch, which compromises your privacy.

Overall, SuperVPN isn’t very good for streaming and torrenting. While my international team and I could watch movies and shows on Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer, it doesn’t work with Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. All servers are P2P-friendly, work with popular torrent clients, and have good speeds, but SuperVPN isn’t safe for torrenting (it keeps logs and doesn’t have a kill switch and powerful encryption). If you’re looking for the best VPN for streaming and torrenting, I recommend ExpressVPN.

SuperVPN Plans & Pricing

SuperVPN has a free plan as well as a paid monthly plan. It’s annoying that you can only see the paid plans after you install the app (SuperVPN’s paid plan costs £2.38 / month). Also, SuperVPN doesn’t say how many simultaneous connections it allows — for example,Private Internet Access allows unlimited simultaneous connections.

SuperVPN is one of the few VPNs that has a free plan that comes with unlimited bandwidth, but you’ll be limited to 60-minute VPN sessions after 20 days — when a session expires, you need to reconnect to a server to get a new one. The free plan includes access to servers in 8 countries, but you’ll see annoying ads inside the app. If you’re looking for a good free VPN, I recommend Proton VPN. It also includes unlimited bandwidth, but Proton VPN comes with excellent security and privacy features and provides faster speeds than SuperVPN.

SuperVPN has one of the cheapest monthly plans out there, but the paid plans only add access to a Hong Kong server, there are no timed VPN sessions, and the app is ad-free. If you’re looking for a good paid VPN, I recommend checking ExpressVPN, Private Internet Access, and CyberGhost VPN.

SuperVPN accepts different Google Play payment methods (credit cards, Google Pay, mobile phone billing, PayPal, gift cards), but it doesn’t include a money-back guarantee.

SuperVPN Ease of Use: Mobile & Desktop Apps

SuperVPN doesn’t have apps for iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux — it only has an app for Android. SuperVPN doesn’t have an official website, and there are other apps and browser extensions with the same name. The best way to get the app is to download it from the Google Play Store.

I installed SuperVPN’s Android app on my smartphone in 1-2 minutes. SuperVPN’s Android app is sometimes buggy. On several occasions, I had to close out of the app and restart it because it got stuck in an endless loading loop when I accessed the FAQ section.

The app’s design is very dated, which is unlike the sleek interface you get with CyberGhost VPN and the intuitive dashboard from NordVPN. But at least it’s easy to connect to a server with SuperVPN — there’s the quick-connect feature (Auto select) and it’s simple to manually select a server because there are so few countries to choose from.

Overall, SuperVPN’s Android app is difficult to find, it doesn’t always work well, and the interface doesn’t have a modern design. Other top VPNs like ExpressVPNand Private Internet Accesshave better-looking apps for all platforms that are much easier to use and feature-rich.

SuperVPN Customer Service

SuperVPN Review 2024: What They Won’t Tell You (8)

The customer support provided by SuperVPN is subpar, lacking phone support, live chat, email support, or instructional guides. They offer just six FAQs, which are accessible only within the app and provide only troubleshooting tips. Additionally, these FAQs are not well-composed.

The best VPNs like ExpressVPNand CyberGhost VPNhave friendly and knowledgeable 24/7 live chat representatives, responsive email support, and very informative support articles, including troubleshooting guides, tutorials, and FAQs.

Overall, SuperVPN lacks reliable customer support, leaving users without adequate assistance or guidance when encountering questions or problems.

Is SuperVPN Safe & Secure in 2024?

SuperVPN is an Android-only VPN that lacks basic security features, doesn’t protect your privacy, and is one of the most untrustworthy and dangerous VPNs I’ve ever tested. It’s missing essential VPN security features like 256-bit encryption and a kill switch, and it keeps records of your IP address, browser type, and operating system — and even more frightening is that SuperVPN had user data leaked and sold on a hacker forum.

SuperVPN’s server network is very small, it doesn’t work with popular streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, it doesn’t have advanced security features like RAM-only servers and perfect forward secrecy, and it doesn’t even tell you the number of devices you’re allowed to connect at once with your account.

SuperVPN has good speeds, allows P2P traffic on all servers, works with a few streaming apps (Amazon Prime and BBC iPlayer), and there’s a free plan with unlimited data, but there’s not much else to like about SuperVPN. Also, its split-tunneling feature doesn’t exclude third-party apps and it’s difficult to use, there’s no customer support, and its premium plans aren’t backed by a money-back guarantee.

Overall, I strongly recommend that you don’t install SuperVPN on your Android device.Instead, either consider downloading one of these top free VPNs,or you can purchase one of the best premium VPNs on the marketin 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SuperVPN safe?

No, SuperVPN isn’t a safe VPN.While it has IPv6 and DNS leak protection, it doesn’t have industry-standard VPN security features, like 256-bit AES encryption and akill switch. Also, SuperVPN logs IP addresses and it’s unclear if it keeps logs of the websites you visit and files you download. And SuperVPN has been involved in privacy scandals, which resulted in user data being leaked.

Is SuperVPN free?

Yes, SuperVPN has a free plan, but I don’t recommend that you use it. The free plan limits you to 60-minute VPN sessions after the first 20 days, requiring you to reconnect to the VPN after each session expires, and there are also in-app ads. What’s worse, SuperVPN lacks essential security features like 256-bit encryption and a kill switch and it has privacy issues (it logs your IP address, browser type, operating system, and possibly also your online traffic).

Does SuperVPN work on Netflix?

No, as my international team and I confirmed it isn’t compatible with the popular streaming service. If you’re looking for a really good VPN that works with Netflix (and other top streaming services), I recommend ExpressVPN, which also has ultra-fast speeds for watching content in HD quality without any interruptions.

Does SuperVPN keep logs?

Yes, SuperVPN logs your IP address, browser type, and operating system. The privacy policy doesn’t say whether or not SuperVPN also logs your traffic. So, you can’t trust SuperVPN’s claims.

I prefer VPNs that have clear and strict no-logs policies that have been independently audited and confirmed, like ExpressVPN. And Private Internet Access’sno-logs policy has been verified in court documents many times.
