You can transfer calls when you are on the phone with someone by performing one of the following two options:

  1. Attended Transfer: Placethe caller on hold and speakto the transfer recipient first
  2. Blind Transfer: Transfer the call immediately without speaking to the recipient first
To set up Call Forwarding rules for unanswered calls, refer to Forward Call Options.


NOTES:

  • Semi-attended Transfers, where the call is transferred upon the recipient's phone ringing, are not supported by Vonage.
  • To display theoriginating Caller ID on transfer, you must perform a Blind Transfer instead of an Attended Transfer.
  • Attended transfers to a Call Queue may cause the call to drop. If you need to transfer to a Call Queue, use blind transfer.
Transfer Using Phone

Semi-attended transfers, where the call is transferred upon the recipient's phone ringing, are not supported by Vonage.

Attended Transfers

Use an attended transfer to place a caller on hold while you speak to the transfer recipient. After you have finished speaking, use the following steps to complete an attended transfer from your Vonage phone:

  1. Press the Transfer button on your phone to place the caller on hold. This may be a key on your phone or a softkey that appears on your phone's display.
  2. Dial the recipient's extension number or external phone number, and press the dial softkey or # (pound) button.
  3. Announce the caller after the recipient answers.
  4. Press the Transfer button or softkey a second time to complete the transfer.

NOTE: To display theoriginating Caller ID on transfer, you must perform a Blind Transfer instead of an Attended Transfer.

Blind Transfers

A blind transfer lets you transfer a call directly to another extension or external phone number without speaking to the recipient. Steps to blind transfer vary from phone to phone and can be referenced as follows:

Cisco/Linksys Phones
  1. Scroll to the right on your phone's display using the direction pad.
  2. Press the bxfer softkeyand then enter the destination extension or external phone number.
  3. Press the dial softkey or the pound (#) key to complete the blind transfer.
Polycom Phones
  1. Press the Transfer button or softkeyand then press the blind softkey.
  2. Enter the destination extension or external phone number.
  3. Press the Send softkey, or green phone icon, to complete the blind transfer.

NOTE: The Blind Transfer instructions are different for Polycom VVX310 devices. Long press the Transfer key to initiate a blind transfer. There is not a blind softkey for these phones.

Panasonic Phones
  1. Press theMenu button, located between Talk and Off.
  2. Press Blind Transfer.
  3. Enter the destination extension or external phone number.
  4. Press the Transfer softkey to complete the blind transfer.
Yealink Phones
  1. Press the Transfer button or softkey.
  2. Enter the destination extension or external phone number.
  3. Press the BlindTransfer(or B. Transfer)button or softkey (which will now be visible)to complete the blind transfer.
Grandstream Phones

Use the following steps to complete a blind transfer with two active calls:

NOTE:While It is possible to blind transfer a call while having two active lines, it is not possible to useattended transfer.

  1. Press the Transfer button.
  2. Press the RIGHT arrow key on the keypad.
  3. Enter the destination extension or external phone number.
  4. Press the More softkey on the phone display.
  5. Press the Transfer softkey.
Transfer Using App
Desktop app App

Use the following steps to transfer the call:

  1. ClickTransfer.

  2. Select from the following options:
    • Blind Transfer
    • Attended Transfer
    • Transfer to Voicemail
  3. Enter a phone number and then click the number in the list, or click a contact from the directory.
  4. ClickOK.
Mobile App

Use the following steps to transfer the call:

  1. TapTransfer.
  2. Select from the following options:
    • Blind Transfer
    • Attended Transfer
    • Transfer to Voicemail
  3. Enter a phone number and then tap the number in the list, or tap a contact from the directory.
    • If you selected Blind Transferor Transfer to Voicemail, the call is immediately transferred.
    • If you selected Attended Transfer, speak to the transfer recipient and then tapTransfer Now.
Call Flip

While on an active call, you can move the call to a different device assigned to the same extension on your Vonage Business account without interrupting the call.

NOTE: You cannot flip a call if you are on a 3-way Call, Conference Call, On Hold, or Call Monitoring is active.

From Desktop or Mobile App to Desk Phone
  1. Pick up your desk phone handset.
  2. Dial *44.
From Desk Phone to Desktop or Mobile App
Desktop App
  1. Sign in to the Desktop App.
  2. Click Calls, then click Call Flip.
Mobile App
  1. Sign in to the Mobile App.
  2. Tap Keypad, then tap Call Flip.
Transfer to Voicemail

You can transfer a call to the voicemail of an extensionon your account by dialing**and then the extension number.

NOTE: Blind transfer is recommended.
