Does the Bible say Jesus is enough? ›

Jesus is enough for you. You shall not want. And he is the one who is caring for your life. Colossians 1 says he is all-sufficient, the one who created the world and holds it all together, the one in whom wisdom and knowledge and the “hope of glory” are stored and in whom the fullness of deity dwells.

Introduction. Isaiah 53 contains a prophecy of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Isaiah taught that the Savior would be despised and rejected, smitten and afflicted; that He would carry our sorrows; and that He would be wounded for our transgressions.

Isaiah continues an unusual prophecy about the Messiah that He began in Isaiah 52:13. He predicts that the neither He nor the Messiah will be believed. The Messiah will be unrecognized, unremarkable, unattractive, despised and forsaken of men, full of grief and sorrows, and misunderstood.

Jesus' provision of all the soul needs of His people is graphically illustrated in this miracle. In feeding the multitudes, Jesus intends to show that He alone is able to supply all our needs — material and spiritual. He Himself is the source of life and He is able to give this bread because He is the Bread of Life.

Consider the people, passions, and projects that are important to you. Consider that without Jesus at the center they leave you empty. Ask God to help you identify anything in your life that distracts you from Jesus and then as you picture that struggle or temptation pray, “Jesus is enough for me.”

In Isaiah 60, the people are called to respond to the shining of their light (that the light belongs to the people will be important). The people are called to rise up and shine, as a response to God's glory and their light arriving in their midst. The world has come into darkness. But God is doing something about it.

Jesus then sat down and Luke tells us, “And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon him. And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” So the Lord Jesus affirms that he is the one Isaiah and all the prophets wrote of; he announces the salvation of God.

God is both the judge and the savior. This means that God has a plan to make all things right in the end, and that a necessary part of that process is declaring what is not yet right. This is the message of Isaiah the prophet. The judgment of God declares what is broken; the promise of God is to heal.

Isaiah 6:8–13 finds Isaiah newly cleansed with his sin atoned for. In response to the Lord's question about who to send, Isaiah eagerly volunteers to take God's message to his people in Judah. The Lord reveals to Isaiah that the message will not penetrate the hearts of the people.

In all five uses of pleroma Paul is saying that Christ is defined by “fullness.” In other words, Jesus is complete, with nothing lacking, without any deficiency; He is complete deity and fully self-sufficient. He possesses all power, all glory, all sovereignty, all wisdom, all perfection, all holiness.

You are enough. A beautiful creation. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14) As a matter of fact, you have always been enough, every since the beginning.
