Want to know how to make chocolate covered strawberries even better? Try soaking them in VODKA before you dip them! If you haven't tried vodka soaked strawberries, you're definitely missing out.

Every year I make these vodka infused strawberries for Valentine's Day but honestly, they are always a huge hit any time of the year.

(I made a short video on Instagram showing you how to make them, here.)

How to "Spike" Strawberries

First, rinse the strawberries. Then, place them in a jar filled with your favorite vodka (mine is Tito's). You want to make sure that the strawberries are submerged. Place the jar in the fridge and let them really soak about 4-6 hours.

Tip: Don't leave your strawberries soaking overnight because they will get very mushy.

After they've soaked, remove the strawberries from the jar and pat dry. (Be sure to reserve the vodka. You can make a fun festive drink with it later!)

Next, dip into your favorite melted chocolate (I chose white chocolate with a tiny pink food coloring swirled in). While still wet, dip theberry into your sprinkles of choice.

Toppings For Your Vodka Soaked Strawberries

You could get as creative as you'd like with the toppings. Once you've infused your strawberries and dipped them in melted chocolate, top with one of these for extra deliciousness:

  • Sprinkles (you can match any holiday or occassion)
  • Drizzled Chocolate or Caramel
  • Finely chopped nuts (I like using almonds)
  • Chopped candy (try Reeses!)

Once you've decorated, arrange your vodka soaked strawberries onto a cute cake stand or platter. You could even package them up like I did these homemade chocolate hearts and give them as gifts.

Remember that reserved vodka I told you to save from the jar you were soaking the berries in? Shake it over ice and strain it into a martini glass.
YOU'RE WELCOME FRIEND!

Would it be smarter to freeze them after they soak? Or to put the vodka in the chocolate?

It's bought, I believe pinnacle makes a chocolate vodka. But whipped vodka would do well here too. Flavored vodka's can be purchased at almost all grocery stores.
