WHAT DO YOU SOAK STRAWBERRIES IN?
I’ve found over the years that the best tasting strawberries have been infused with a dry alcohol. Prosecco, Champagne, Vodka, Rum, White wine, Red wine or Rosé work really well with strawberries. Coating them in granulated white sugar creates a sweetsyrupof strawberry mixed with the alcohol that you can dip them in when serving!
YOU NEEDJUSTTHREE INGREDIENTS FOR A DELICIOUS TREAT!
STRAWBERRIES:Use firm, vibrant-coloured ripe strawberries for this recipe. Wash them well before soaking in alcohol. ALCOHOL:You don’t need an expensive bottle of alcohol for this recipe. although I do recommend using your favourite brand. SUGAR:White granulated sugar or raw sugar work well and add needed sweetness and crunch.
Drunken strawberries are a hit wherever you serve them!

I made these with a little white rum and added a teaspoon of food grade rose water and fresh mint. Delicious!

We had a whole heap of strawberries that we were going to make into jam. Well guess who stole some to make these? Me that’s who. I used champagne and I normally hate it and can’t drink it but! it really brings out the natural sweetness of the fruit! It’s the only alcohol I have in the house. I’m even amazed that this is happening right now in my kitchen. They’re so good!
I've found over the years that the best tasting strawberries have been infused with a spirits or dry alcohol. Prosecco, Champagne, Vodka, Rum, White wine, Red wine or Rosé work really well with strawberries.
First, rinse the strawberries. Then, place them in a jar filled with your favorite vodka (mine is Tito's). You want to make sure that the strawberries are submerged. Place the jar in the fridge and let them really soak about 4-6 hours.
Fragoli is an Italian liqueur, with real strawberries inside the bottle, that sells for about $40. Though it's not common enough to be at every corner liquor store, places like BevMo tend to carry it.
Infuse for 3 to 5 days: Shake the jar of fruit and vodka daily. You'll see the vodka gradually take on the color of the fruit. Taste it after 3 days and continue infusing to your liking. Most fruit vodkas are finished in 3 to 5 days, but you can continue infusing the vodka for longer.
When you take super ripe strawberries and let them sit in vodka for a few days, you get something UTTERLY delicious. The berries let out all of their bright red juices RIGHT into the vodka.
Directions. Rinse strawberries and dry thoroughly. Use a syringe or clean marinade injector to inject about 2 teaspoons of brandy into each berry. Place them on a baking sheet, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
Step 3: Soak for approximately 20 minutes (any longer can create a soggy berry and any shorter isn't as effective). Step 4: Lift the colander and rinse the fruit thoroughly under cool water. Pat the fruit dry with a clean cloth or paper towels.
Paired with a strawberry, Prosecco is the aphrodisiac wine par excellence. But there is a whole list of recipes, from the simplest to the most sophisticated. For a bitter-sweet aperitif, a Smoothie made with strawberries and Pinot Grigio makes an interesting change to more traditional co*cktails.
Combine Teremana Blanco, Lime Juice, Strawberry Puree and Coconut Water.Shake, strain and pour into a coupe or champagne glass.Top with Champagne and garnish with a strawberry.
It all comes down to sugar and acid. Any fruit can become wine, but grape juice (and, almost as good, apple juice) have the ideal concentrations to become a happy alcohol accident.
These easy drunken strawberries can be made the night before, so they're perfect for serving at a brunch or party the next day. Just let them soak in the wine overnight, then finish the recipe the next day. They will get soggy if they sit for a couple of hours, so I recommend making them right before serving.
A neutral alcohol like vodka is your safest bet when it comes to DIY infused booze because there are no flavors inherent to the spirit that will clash with your fruit.
Rinse berries, pat dry and place in large bowl or mason jar. Fill jar with whisky and make sure all strawberries are submerged. Close lid tightly and refrigerate overnight 6-8 hours. Drain strawberries over a large bowl (saving the leftover liquid for co*cktails) and pat strawberries dry with paper towel.
Preserving fruit in alcohol is quite easy and produces two delicious outcomes - boozy fruit & infused spirits. Quite simply, I fill a clean glass jar with fruit, submerge completely in alcohol, add a few spoons of sugar, cover & shake.
