OREO stands for Opinion, Reason, Example, and Opinion. This systematic framework helps students present their idea and supporting evidence in a structured way. Here’s a more detailed breakdown of each component:
- Opinion – This is where the writer presents their main argument or viewpoint.
- Reason – After stating the opinion, the writer provides an explanation or rationale to support their viewpoint.
- Example – Following the reason, the writer provides one or more criteria to illustrate further and reinforce the validity of their argument.
- Opinion – The final step in the OREO structure involves restating the argument with a stronger emphasis.
